The ECCO Cycling Tour, a 650 km bike ride in three days from Merelbeke to Moulins, is supported by the strong network of ECCO Products. Plascobel also likes to contribute to this event. We had a talk with Yves Verdonschot, Plant Manager at Plascobel.
Yves, could you explain exactly what Plascobel does as a company?
At Plascobel, we manufacture plastic products by injection moulding. During this process, we strongly focus on modern machines and automations.
What is the link between your company, Plascobel, and ECCO Products?
Since the start of our cooperation in 2011, I have been the contact person for the production of gravel grids, grass grids, HD Flex, Drainbase and Sedum trays. Plascobel is a company that is affiliated with the same group of companies as ECCO, and together with ECCO, the 1st automatic production line for gravel tiles was started in 2011. Since then, the business has only grown. At this moment we have 3 production lines for gravel tiles at Plascobel and within the group we have a total of 8 production lines running.
What is your motivation to sponsor the ECCO Cycling Tour?
We definitely want to support Chris and Christophe's initiative, because they want to map out climate change and all its negative consequences, as mentioned by Christophe in his interview. Often, people don’t realise the impact of it, but we experienced it up close last summer. That is why it is very important to create awareness about it. Also, because the benefits of their initiative go to the Join For Water charity, we find it natural to support this action. As partners for many years, we proudly encourage Chris and Christophe to complete their journey by bicycle. We wish them good luck!
